Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has finished the third and final day of testing for the Silverstone Grand Prix next weekend. Hamilton put in a best lap time of 1:19.170, which was seven tenths of a second faster than next best runner, Timo Glock. The McLaren driver focused his days work on completing McLaren’s aero program as well as putting more millage on mechanical parts. McLaren suffered no problems at all during the three day test, in which they completed 1285km; over 4 race distances.

Toyota’s Timo Glock was the next fastest runner, though he was seven tenths of a second adrift of the McLaren, Toyota’s pace does look promising, and the Japanese team will certainly be looking to capitalize on what looks to be a good level of pace.

Current world champion, Kimi Raikkonen was the next fastest runner, though he was over 1.3 seconds slower than Hamilton’s best time of the day, although Hamilton’s best time could have been on a light fuel load, as being 1.3 seconds faster than a Ferrari is unusual to say the least.

Renaults Fernando Alonso was the next best runner, setting a best lap time that was 1.7 seconds behind Hamilton’s time, either the rest of the field are running on a high fuel load, or Hamilton and McLaren are incredibly quick. The test teams are packing up their stuff to make way for the race team that should arrive at the circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday
