Hungarian Grand Prix: Qualifying Round up

Qualifying for Round 11, the 2008 Hungarian Grand Prix, took place at the Hungaroring in Budapest in the sweltering heat. It was a good day for the Toyota F1 team with both drivers Timo Glock and Jarno Trulli managing to get themselves inside the top ten.

Timo will start the race from fifth place with Jarno ninth. Timo coming back after his crash in Hockenhiem well. Jarno struggled with the balance of the TF108 but it was good to have both cars in the top ten.

Up front it is an all Mclaren-Mercedes front row with Lewis Hamilton leading team mate Heikki Kovalainen. Hamilton's pole lap a 1.20.899. Ferrari's Felipe Massa rounded out the top three.

BMW-Sauber's Robert Kubica lines up fourth with Timo fifth whilst World Champion Kimi Raikkonen could only manage sixth place in second of the Ferrari's.

He will start just ahead of Renault's Fernando Alonso who himself was just ahead of Renault powered Mark Webber in the Red Bull Racing car in eighth. Jarno and Renault's Nelson Piquet Jr rounded out the top ten.

Sebastian Vettel will start eleventh for Scuderia Toro Rosso just ahead of Honda driver Jenson Button who did well to get into 12th position. Second Red Bull Racing driver David Coulthard will start in 13th place ahead of a controversial session for French driver Sebastian Bourdais in the second Scuderia Toro Rosso in 14th. Nico Rosberg rounded out the top 15 for Williams-Toyota.

Nick Heidfeld was dissapointed to go out int he first part of Qualifying for the BMW-Sauber team. He will be joined by Williams-Toyota driver Kazuki Nakajima. Honda's Rubens Barrichello will start 18th with Giancarlo Fisichella and his Force India Ferrari team mate Adrian Sutil were 19th and 20th respectively and rounded out the grid.

Note: Since being written French driver Sebastian Bourdais has been penalised for holding up Nick Heidfeld in the first part of Qualifying. The Scuderia Toro Rosso driver will now start in 19th position on the grid.
