The ING Renault F1 Team on the streets of Kiev
By Renault F1 September 22 2008
The ING Renault F1 Team’s Roadshow programme was in Ukraine this weekend offering its sixth display of the season on the streets of Kiev. After the Technocentre (Paris) in June and Johannesburg in July, the ING Renault F1 Team visited Ukraine this weekend to give a special demonstration on the streets of the capital city.

The team’s two test drivers, Sakon Yamamoto and Romain Grosjean, were both on hand to entertain the fans for the first demonstration of a Formula 1 car in Kiev. Their donuts and burnouts delighted the 60 000 spectators who turned out on Sunday to witness this extraordinary spectacle.

It was the first time for the ING Renault F1 Team in Ukraine and the event, which was organised by Renault Ukraine and ING, proved to be a great success, bringing together so many people in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

After getting out of the cockpit of the R27, Sakon Yamamoto commented: “I am very happy to have taken part in this demonstration. It’s an amazing feeling to drive in the town so close to the public. I’ve really enjoyed being here today in Kiev.”

Romain Grosjean, who closed the demonstration today added: “This has been an unbelievable day and I hope that the public enjoyed this demonstration as much as I did. Driving an F1 car in the town is completely different to driving on a circuit, but it creates such an atmosphere with the crowd, which makes it so special.”
