The site also says that Toyota may have offered Gascoyne 6.5 Million USD per year to become their Technical Director. It is not clear whatever Gascoyne will replace Toyota's current designer Gustav Brunner or will be in charge of Brunner's efforts. It is also thought that Gascoyne could take many key staff from the design team to the Colgone based squad.

Toyota has declained to make comments.

Flavio Briatore recently told Autosport Online that Gascoyne has a contract until the year 2005 and that it was not time now to enter negotiations with him.
