First half of the 2008 season Review, Part 2
By BMW Sauber F1 Team July 16 2008
As the 2008 Formula One season enters its second half, the BMW Sauber F1 Team has already achieved its goal of winning a Grand Prix. In part two of our review, we look back at Grands Prix six to nine of the current season. .

Monaco Grand Prix.
Mixed feelings for the BMW Sauber F1 Team at what is probably the most eventful race of the year so far: among Monaco's tight street canyons, Robert Kubica drives his way to another second place. This is the third podium finish in five races for the Pole. Nick Heidfeld, who for a long time is also well placed on the wet streets of the Mediterranean principality, is rammed by a rival and has no chance of claiming a top result in his damaged F1.08.

Canadian Grand Prix.
The highlight of the season for the BMW Sauber F1 Team comes in Montreal. The team from Munich and Hinwil not only achieves its goal for the season at the "Circuit Gilles Villeneuve", but even manages to surpass it. The team's joy is unbridled as the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers cross the finishing line after 1:36:24.447 hours: a one-two for Robert and Nick. Robert's first victory of his career puts him at the top of the Drivers' World Championship. The Canadian Grand Prix goes down in the team's history.

French Grand Prix.
Back in Europe, the BMW Sauber F1 Team is unable to repeat its Canadian triumph at the race in Magny-Cours. Robert, however, remains on the road to success. He finishes in the points for the seventh time in a row with a fifth place in France. Nick crosses the finishing line at the "Circuit de Nevers" in 13th place.

British Grand Prix.
Nick is in the spotlight for the BMW Sauber F1 Team at Silverstone. The 31-year-old ends the first half of the 2008 season just as he started it: in second place. In an exciting race on a wet track, Nick shows exactly what he is capable of and celebrates the tenth podium finish of his career. Unfortunately for Robert, the wet tarmac spells doom for the Pole and he must retire early from the race. After nine of the 18 Grands Prix, the BMW Sauber F1 Team has 82 points to its name and is second in the Constructors' World Championship. In the Drivers' Championship, Robert and Nick are well placed in fourth and fifth going into the second half of the season.
