Vettel confirmed at STR through 2008

Scuderia Toro Rosso announced earlier today that they have signed Sebastian Vettel to drive for them through the 2008 season. The young German, who had been a test driver for BMW-Sauber, was brought into STR earlier this week to replace Scott Speed.

Vettel made F1 history in June when, substituting for the injured Robert Kubica at the USGP, he became the youngest driver ever to score championship points. He has been a driver that STR co-owmer Gerhard Berger was rumored to be very interested in hiring.
There is no word yet on who Vettel's teammate might be for next year. STR let an "option" on the sevices of Champ Car star Sebastien Bourdais expire earlier this week without any formal announcement as to their decision.
