Fisico wants a point in Monaco
By Karl King May 20 2008
Giancarlo Fisichella will enter his 200th Formula 1 race at Monaco this weekend, and the Roman is hoping for a point as his reward. Fisi, who says it is 'satisfying' to complete more races that most drivers, has raced in every Monaco GP since he entred the sport in 1996, finishing on the podium twice.
Talking of his 200th race, Fisco said "To celebrate this at Monaco is fantastic as it's the best track in the world, one of my favourites, as the twisty track itself is phenomenal, the fans are so close to the cars so you get a real atmosphere, and the surroundings are so beautiful. It's certainly the best place for a celebration - I have to hope that we can celebrate a good result on Sunday too!

"Monaco has given me some good results, but last year was particularly good as I came home 4th when no one was expecting it. It was a result the team desperately needed too.

"Realistically this year we can't hope for 4th, but one point is my target - everything else that comes on top of that is a bonus. We have a new aero package that will for sure help us, but the whole race is a lottery so you've got to be lucky too."

Adrian will also be hoping for a good race at a circuit he has gone well on in the past. He held the F3 lap record around the Principality and last year set the fastest Saturday practice time, albeit in very wet conditions.

The young German said, "I'm really looking forward to it as, even though we didn't finish last year, it was actually one of my best weekends. It was such a great feeling when I saw my name in P1 on Saturday - no one expected it! For me it was important as that stage in the season as it gave me a lot of good feedback and made people realise we are serious about what we do.

"We have a better car this year and I hope we can do well. It can be tricky if it rains, but I don't mind as we saw last year! It was important for me to finish in Turkey as we could get a lot more mileage and also for my confidence to finish a race.

"Now I think we need to stay concentrated and get more finishes, do a good job and get a good result."

Action will commence on Thursday morning when the cars hit the track for "Friday free practice"!

it's not impossible but with Toro Rosso claiming a 3 tenths improvemetn it's gonna be difficult and improbable. But in Monaco you never know. Dreams can come true. Its up to the drivers mainly.

Monaco - a tricky circuit with little or no chance for overtaking. I suppose the newer drivers would find it challenging as Monaco is unlike any other circuit. Drivers with past experience of Monaco would tend to do well and there are very few people with more experience than Fisi.

Good luck to Fisi, Adrian and Force India for Monaco. This is Force India's best chance for points this side of Hungary, I think.

not possible...but fisi's experience shall make it an interesting fight at the back...i also have a very strong feeling alonso is gonna go super light and try and get pole as overtaking is impossible..also lewis will be a strong contender here this time..

Well, 10th in FP1 is a good start to the points-scoring mission. If the Force India is that good in wet conditions (which are predicted for Saturday and Sunday), then scoring a point should be entirely possible.

I know Sutil's 17th looks less good, but he did beat Piquet Jr and Vettel on merit, so it was a pretty hard-earned 17th.
