Felipe Massa made it a 3-4 for Ferrari but will it be like this in the qualifying session? or are they just playing mind games. Mark Webber put in another strong performance for Red Bull in 5th but the question is will his reliability hold? the poor guy couldn’t get on a horse without it breaking down.
Giancarlo Fisichella gave hope to another strong weekend for the two times world champion Renault and put it in 6th place behind the car that they supply engines too. Nick Heidfeld put the Bmw Sauber up to 7th while criticised Ralf Schumacher ended the session in 8th place and David Coulthard put his Red Bull up to 9th making it two cars in the top ten for them.
Anthony Davidson finished in 10th making it another strong opener to the weekend for us but the question is can he transfer that pace from practice to qualifying and the race? Takuma Sato finished behind his team mate in 11th and both Aguri Hondas beat the factory team. Jarno Trulli put his Toyota in 12th being out performed by his media mugged team mate who put the TF107 in 8th. Jenson Button had a more competitive showing from the RA107 and finished ahead of his team mate Rubens Barrichello for a change.Hekki Kovelinen finished in a lowly 14th and Alex Wurz came behind him in 15th following a better weekend at Monaco for him. Scott Speed was the fastest STR in 16th after his spectacular 9th in Monaco and Williams elected to use there third driver Nakajima and he ended the day the slowest of the Williams trio in 17th, with Hondas Rubens Barrichello in 18th and Liuzzi in 19th getting out paced by team mate Scott Speed. Albers ended in 20th for Spyker stating that he’s much happier with this years tire now which showed as he outpaced his team mate Adrian Sutil in 21st for the first time this year. Kubica rounded off the 90 minute session setting no time.
