Super Aguri in trouble! Will they survive?
By Gunman January 31 2008
Super Aguri is back on the news, but in the worst way possible. The financial problems are so bad that the team had to skip a test at Valencia. One newspaper even mentions a $66 million debt! While all the other teams keep testing and improving their cars, Super Aguri is not doing that!.

Well, looks like prize money from points ain't what it used to be. Super Aguri is under major financial problems. Max Mosley himself came forward and said this:

As far as we are concerned, they are a normal team perfectly entitled to race. They're entered into this year's championship, and we expect to see them in Melbourne. I wouldn't like to stake my life on that. I think so, but you can't be certain. Beyond this season, though, is another matter - but, then, the same applies to all teams at present as there is no Concorde Agreement in place.

Ouch. Looks like things are way worse than we thought. Maybe we should stop thinking so much about how the new car will be and start worrying about whether we'll actually have a car.

However, there is hope, and right now that might be also bad news for some of you. The Indian company Spice Group, currently involved in A1 Team India, made an offer to buy a stake in troubled Super Aguri.

But they want more than just the team. They want Narain Karthikeyan back in Formula 1, to replace Anthony Davidson. Bad news for Davidson's fans.

We'll follow the next news very closely.

Super Aguri has run 40 km this winter. Even if they get to the grid, I don't expect a very good season.
