Bahrain: another two-car finish.
By Gunman April 7 2008
After a bad qualifying, Super Aguri managed to get both cars to the finish line at Bahrain. Davidson finished in 16th and Sato finished in 17th, in front of Adrian Sutil and David Coulthard. Given the state of the team, a two-car finish is a good result, and like in the two previous races, the team managed to collect plenty of data.

Both drivers started at the end of the grid. Sato managed to get to the middle of the pack in the first lap.

"I had an eventful few opening laps and I really enjoyed going through the middle of the pack. I had a little bit of contact and possibly damaged the aero, but nevertheless I got up to 14th position and that was exciting."

Davidson didn't get into so much action, but still managed to finish ahead of Sato. Aguri Suzuki recognized that both drivers did an excellent job getting the car to the finish.

Super Aguri didn't get much attention. I watched the race on Speed tv and the only time I saw both cars was at the start and when Hamilton was passing them (no, not lapping). Sato and Davidson didn't put a challenge against the more powerful McLaren-Mercedes. Both cars kept a constant pace between

Aguri Suzuki acknowledges that team's pace is not good enough and is aware of the need to improve:

"We have collected a good amount of data but shall have to work on improving our performance for the next grand prix in Barcelona."

Yep, that's what the team needs to do. The next race will occur in the 27th of April.

It was sad for Super Aguri that Sato lost some time at second pit stop. Other then that it was almost perfect race in spite of slow pace.
One thing I did not like during Bahrain was that Hamilton stuck his finger up after passing Sato and Fisi. It could be typical British behavior, but I do not think it would impress Japanese fans.

I didn't see that, but it was probably just Hamilton being a jerk.

Oi! I'm British, I know there are some real idiots in Britain (won't go into that) but not all of us are like that!

If only the super best friends could have bought Toyota engines this year! I really like those guys and wish them the best of luck!

BTW: Has anyone found out if the finger was friendly or a flipping off? It would be nice to know for sure. I'd hate for Hamilton's reputation to suffer on speculation alone!
