"In some ways I was quite amazed that we had Romanian officials," Wales U21 manager Brian Flynn said after their first leg Euro Championship playoff loss to England, before deciding not to tell us the joke about the accordion player with the gold teeth standing at the traffic lights. Instead he criticised the referee and his colleagues for some apparently dodgy decisions. Angling at the possibility of a conspiracy theory, he claimed, "When there's 50 other countries in Europe and we've just beaten Romania, they give us Romanian officials. It seems a strange decision by Uefa." We didn't know Michel Platini and Stuart Pearce were such good friends. Would it be completely Stu-pid to back the Welsh to win the second leg?
