Redemption For Briscoe

What a difference one week can make. After drawing the ire of Danica Patrick - and her legions of fans - for a pit lane incident that took them both out of the Indianapolis 500, Ryan Briscoe has captured his first IndyCar Series win at the Milwaukee Mile.

After a rough start to the 2008 season that has seen him fail to finish three races, Briscoe is certainly relieved to find victory lane. "It's huge," the 26-year-old Australian said. "It feels so good to get the win. The car was just magic today. We just came through the field."

Starting from mid-pack (11th spot), Briscoe steadily worked his way towards the front, passing Scott Dixon for the lead on lap 177 of the 225 lap event. Ryan, Scott & Helio Castroneves would trade the lead until lap 207, when Briscoe would regain it for good. Dixon would challenge him in the closing stages, but a four car pile-up (that took out Ed Carpenter, Marco Andretti, Vitor Meira & Hideki Mutoh) on lap 223 froze the field, allowing him to cruise to the checkered flag under a caution.

Here are the complete results from the race:

Earlier in the day Bobby Wilson won the 100 lap Firesstone Indy Lights race. It was his 3rd series win & the first ever for his current squad, Team E.
