Felipe Massa set the fastest time of the day during testing at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit today in Belgium. The Brazilian was well ahead of second fastest man, Fernando Alonso in the McLaren and over a full second faster than Heikki Kovalainen in third.

The Brazilian completed 56 laps of the circuit, setting a best time of 1'46.698. Felipe worked primarily on achieving an optimum setup for this circuit and its Grand Prix on the 16th of September.
